brambles with black fruit of aggregate drupelets. Cultivated for
its fruit and with many cultivars - eg Loganberry, Dewberry. Blackberry's
leaves and roots are high in tannin.

Chewed leaf
is an ancient remedy for bleeding gums. Leaf and roots are used
as a common home remedy for diarrhea.
